Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton, is reportedly seeking $2 million for a book reflecting on her time working for the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign and her strained marriage to former Congressman Anthony Weiner.
“This will be an interesting sale to see who wants to know what [Weiner] said to her each time he was caught,” ICM Partners’ Esther Newberg, a top literary agent, told the Hollywood Reporter.
“If she reveals a lot, it turns your stomach. If she doesn’t, she puts the publisher in a bad place.”
Clinton has reportedly given her blessing for the book.
Abedin’s profile rose in the finals weeks of the campaign as the FBI announced that while investigating Weiner’s inappropriate messages with a 15-year-old girl, the bureau found emails related to the investigation into Clinton’s private server.
The New York Post reported last month that Abedin may be giving her marriage another chance. The couple separated In August after Weiner repeatedly sent explicit photos to other women.
A source told the New York Post that the breakup was “more for optics for the campaign and [under] pressure from Hillary’s camp,” and both families are hoping for a reconciliation.
