Avenatti demands release of security footage after allegation of domestic violence

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who has been accused by an actress of domestic violence and was arrested last week on suspicion of felony domestic violence, is requesting the release of all footage captured by his apartment building during the time of the alleged assault so he can clear his name.

“I want the truth to be known — all of it,” Avenatti tweeted Tuesday. “The truth about the alleged incident on Tues night/Wed am, as well as the truth about TMZ’s completely false reporting about last Wed afternoon. I want it ALL disclosed. ASAP. As a result, I just authorized the release of all the video.”

Avenatti said he waives any “privacy interest” that may be included in the footage and that he would hold the building harmless from any damages or liabilities as a result of releasing the footage.

It was first reported last week by TMZ that Avenatti’s estranged wife, Lisa Storie-Avenatti, filed a complaint with the Los Angeles Police Department. Shortly thereafter, Storie-Avenatti’s attorney disputed the report and said that that the “article is not true as it pertains to my client.”

That prompted TMZ to modify its report and claim another woman was involved in the alleged incident.

Avenatti was released shortly following his arrest and has since said he is innocent and has “NEVER abused a woman or committed domestic violence against anyone.” He’s also requested TMZ issue a retraction immediately and believes video footage will vindicate him.

Estonian actress Mareli Miniutti has filed a restraining order against Avenatti and accused him of pulling her across a floor and calling her an “ungrateful fucking bitch.” She also accused him of being aggressive in the past.
