Hackers have been targeting Trump Hotel guests for months

Trump Hotel guests at 14 locations have had their credit card information exposed following a security breach that spanned over seven months, according to the company.

The hacking occurred between August 2016 and March 2017 and exposed guests names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, and card security information, said a notice posted on the company website.

The breach itself took hold of the information through the reservation booking service used by Trump Hotels, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, but the hotels’ direct systems were not compromised.

During the breach, less than 15 percent of guest bookings on the reservation system were compromised, a Sabre spokesman told the Washington Post.

“The privacy and protection of our guests’ information is a matter we take very seriously, and we recommend that affected guests review the information in this letter for some steps they can take to protect themselves against potential misuse of their information,” the notice released by Trump Hotels read.
