The New York Daily News’ front page Tuesday features a picture of Hillary Clinton headlined by the word “phony,” as the newspaper repeats Sen. Bernie Sanders’, I-Vt., claim that the Democratic front-runner is all talk when it comes to the topic of workers’ wages.
“Sanders camp rips ‘poser’ Hil for horning in on gov’s historic $15 minimum wage victory,” the headline reads.
“Fair-pay phony!” it adds.

The unflattering Clinton headline is in reference to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signing a bill Monday increasing the state’s minimum wage rate to $15 an hour.
Clinton, a former New York senator, was at the signing ceremony Monday.
Sanders’ team, however, is not impressed, and claimed in response to the bill’s signing that Clinton is merely copping rhetoric from the Vermont senator’s campaign.
“She has in this instance, as others, tried to pose as someone who is sympathetic to the idea of a $15 (national) minimum wage without actually being sympathetic to it,” Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs said.
“It’s the same rhetorical shifting we’ve seen from her on other issues like fracking and offshore oil drilling and what to do about climate change and the Keystone Pipeline and trade deals,” he added.
Clinton and Sanders will face off again for a primary debate in Brooklyn on April 14, CNN announced Monday. Wolf Blitzer will moderate the event, and CNN’s Dana Bash and NY1’s Errol Louis will join him.
The debate is scheduled to take place just six days before the Empire State’s Democratic primary on Tuesday, April 19.
