The drama of slain Washington intern Chandra Levy’s death is coming to television this weekend.
The two-hour docudrama on the 24-year-old Levy’s murder airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on TLC, and DCist notes that the station has released a trailer for the show.
Levy disappeared in May 2001 and her remains were found in Rock Creek Park a year later. Her disappearance made national headlines, in large part due to her romantic relationship with then-Rep. Gary A. Condit (D-Calif.).
Condit was initially a suspect in the case, but authorities no longer believe he was involved. Ingmar Guandique, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was convicted of first-degree murder in Levy’s death in November.
The trailer offers tidbits like Condit telling Levy, “Here’s my private number,” her father explaining that Washington is “a little different” and a Washington Post reporter declaring that the Levy story is “about sex, it’s about lies, it’s about secrets.”
