The One World Trade Center in New York City was lit in red, white, and blue Tuesday evening after a deadly truck attack took the lives of at least 8 people.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered the display, according to a statement from his office.
“Governor Cuomo also directed that the One World Trade Center to be lit in red, white, and blue in honor of freedom and democracy,” the statement said.

One suspect, a man identified as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, a 29-year-old man from Tampa, Fla., has been taken into custody after a truck was driven down a bike path in lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center memorial.
At least eight people were killed and 12 injured, according to police.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said during a press briefing that the incident was an act of terror.
