A Republican congressman-elect from Louisiana is in the intensive care unit after a coronavirus diagnosis, his team said Wednesday.
Rep.-elect Luke Letlow, 41, is in “stable condition” as he undergoes treatment that includes remdesivir and steroids, his doctor said.
“Congressman-elect Luke Letlow has been transferred from St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center in Shreveport, LA as he continues to undergo treatment for COVID-19,” said Letlow spokesman Andrew Bautsch. “The Letlow family is deeply appreciative of the medical team at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe for their fantastic care, and is thankful for all of the prayers and support they continue to receive.”
Letlow won a runoff election Dec. 5 against state Rep. Lance Harris in Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District. He was previously chief of staff to former Louisiana Republican Rep. Ralph Abraham, according to Forbes.
