Prosecutors suggest there could be more charges in Epstein investigation

We might not have heard the last charge in the case of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators.

Prosecutors said on Friday that the investigation into Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and others who might have participated in criminal activity alongside them is still ongoing.

Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex-trafficking minors. He died in August 2019, allegedly by suicide. Maxwell was his alleged madam, procuring young girls for him. She was arrested in July of this year.

“As the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has stated publicly, the investigation into the conduct of the defendant in this case and other possible co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein remains active,” prosecutors said.

David Weinstein, a former federal prosecutor, told the Miami Herald, “Just because you indict the two people at the top of the conspiracy doesn’t mean you stop looking at other people.”

Epstein had a number of famous acquaintances. They included the likes of President Trump, former President Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew of England. It is yet unknown whether any of those acquaintances will be caught up in the investigation.
