Bomb threat stalls Red Line service

Red Line trains were snarled Monday morning after a woman apparently made a bomb threat at the Rockville station.

A woman was reportedly making threats at Rockville before 8 a.m., said Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates. Metro closed down service from Shady Grove to Grosvenor-Strathmore stations, running shuttle buses between them.

Police found no evidence of any explosive devices, she said, and reopened normal service at 9:35 a.m.

The woman was detained for questioning, Gates said. It was not clear what charges, if any, she might face.
