Twitter lit up late Tuesday night to mock former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, who delivered a stilted response to President Trump’s speech from a coffeehouse.
Beshear appeared to be picked to respond because he’s from a working-class state that Democrats are now desperately looking to win back.
But several Twitter users made fun of Beshear’s age, and the group of people sitting behind him. Several made fun of the frozen group of people around him.
Can someone pls rearrange the cardboard cutouts behind Beshear.

I think Beshear is talking in front of a green screen because those people are not moving.

Others noted that everyone behind Beshear was white, something Democrats have criticized Republicans for.
Not a lot of people of color sitting behind Steve Beshear

Others made fun of the infomercial-style message he delivered, and several accused him of looking like a salesman for reverse mortgages.
Hi I’m Steve Beshear, and Id like to tell you about the benefits of a reverse mortgage #demresponse pic.twitter.com/UkbTKxdZDe
