ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A 6-year-old northern Virginia boy is in critical condition after being hit by a FedEx truck.
Police say the boy was playing on a scooter in the driveway of his home in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County when he rode into the street just after 5 p.m. Wednesday. That’s when the truck hit him.
The boy was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is fighting for his life.
Police say the truck’s driver stayed at the scene.
FedEx officials say their thoughts and prayers are with the boy and his family.
