Former boyfriend of Kavanaugh’s third accuser filed restraining order against her

An ex-boyfriend of the third woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct filed a restraining order against her in Florida more than a decade ago, according to a report.

Julie Swetnick’s former boyfriend Richard Vinneccy petitioned a Miami-Dade County court in 2001 for an injunction against her after their four-year relationship deteriorated, Politico reported. Vinneccy’s case, however, was dismissed after an affidavit of nonability to advance fees was filed.

Vinneccy, a registered Democrat, cast doubt on Swetnick’s credibility, according to the outlet.

“Right after I broke up with her, she was threatening my family, threatening my wife and threatening to do harm to my baby at that time,” Vinneccy said, referring to a woman he married after the demise of his and Swetnick’s relationship.

Swetnick, who is being represented by porn star Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti, accused Kavanaugh in a sworn declaration Wednesday of behaving inappropriately toward women as a teenager, including spiking their drinks and touching them without their consent. She claims the judge and his friends attended parties in the 1980s where girls, including herself, were gang raped. Kavanaugh has denied her allegation.

Avenatti said he was not aware of the restraining order and dismissed its relevance to Swetnick’s accusation.

“Complete nonsense. No truth to this at all. Her ex-boyfriend fraudulently used her resume to apply for and obtain jobs, and was caught by her,” he told Politico. “Why are you all attacking a sexual assault victim? Would that be appropriate in a court of law?”

Kavanaugh is scheduled to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday to address another sexual misconduct allegation leveled against him by Christine Blasey Ford. Ford claims the judge drunkenly groped and her tried to remove her clothes when she was 15 and he was 17. He has also denied her accusation.
