Former Fox News reporter says opinion hosts became ‘more than I could stand’

Former Fox News reporter Carl Cameron said Wednesday that the opinion hosts on the network became “more than I could stand.”

During a discussion on Brian Stelter’s podcast, Cameron said, “Frankly, while the news division at Fox News Channel has always worked to be truly fair and balanced and to be accurate, the opinion hosts in prime time and elsewhere on Fox had become more than I could stand.”

“I have no objection to opinion hosts,” he continued. “But I do believe it’s important the information be accurate, fact-based, verifiable, and information that helps as opposed to hurts people in their efforts to make a good decision when it comes to our politics.”

Cameron’s appearance on the podcast coincided with the launch of his new media website FrontPageLive.com that he created with author and blogger Joe Romm. The site aggregates news similar to the Drudge Report, and reportedly plans on focusing to combat “disinformation” spread by the Right with an emphasis on climate change.

Despite Cameron’s criticism of Fox News’ prime-time opinion hosts, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham together had a larger audience than all of CNN’s programming combined during the second quarter of 2019.
