1. FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD HANGOUT
I can often be seen watching sports and enjoying fine cuisine at Joe Theismann’s in Alexandria (1800 Diagonal Road). This is where I’ve hosted my annual Super Bowl party for the past 13 years.
2. BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
Because of my busy schedule and the need to attend many events daily, my car is my preferred mode. However, I enjoy traveling to D.C. via Metro to attend sports events, touring and dinning.
3. FAVORITE LOCAL SPORTS EVENT
As a season ticket holder, I enjoy watching the Redskins, followed by the Wizards.
4. BEST PLACE FOR LIVE MUSIC
The Birchmere (3701 Mount Vernon Ave.) in Alexandria. Fine dining and a fun atmosphere.
5. BEST PLACE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS
Old Town Alexandria and the White House. Both places have much to offer because of their historic features.
6. FAVORITE MUSEUM
The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I enjoy learning about our history and the contributions many have made to our society over the years.
7. MOST ROMANTIC SPOT
Oronoco Bay Park in Alexandria.
8. FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A LAZY SUNDAY
At home after church, enjoying a brunch and listening to music while waiting for a major sports event to watch on TV.
9. BEN’S CHILI BOWL, OLD EBBITT GRILL OR CAFE MILANO?
Old Ebbitt is high on my list.
10. BEST OUT-OF-TOWN RETREAT
The Hyatt at Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. It has everything.
11. BEST INSIDE-THE-BELTWAY RETREAT
The Gaylord Resort at National Harbor (201 Waterfront St.). It is convenient and fun.
12. BEST PLACE FOR LATE-NIGHT EATS
I am not a late-night eater, but, on occasion, I’ve enjoyed the IHOP in Potomac Yard (3425 Jefferson Davis Highway), as it is close to my home.
13. PIECE OF MUSIC THAT YOU MOST ASSOCIATE WITH D.C.
The Redskins’ fight song.
