Social networking sites are abuzz over an online trailer for “Avatar,” a day before more than 15 minutes of James Cameron’s anticipated 3D sci-fi adventure was to screen in theaters.
Fan response to the two-minute version was mixed Thursday on sites such as Twitter and Facebook. The December release from 20th Century Fox was one of Twitter’s trending topics Thursday.
The studio is set to show extended previews of “Avatar” at 3D theaters around the nation and world Friday as part of its worldwide “Avatar Day” promotion. Free tickets that were distributed online this week were being offered for sale for as much as $40 on Craigslist.
