District police are searching for two suspects in a shooting in Northeast Washington that wounded four young people shortly before noon Tuesday.
A white Honda Accord drove up to a group of young people in an alley near 19th and M streets shortly when suspects inside the car opened fire, police said.
Two juveniles, ages 16, and 17, and two 20-year-olds all were shot, but police said their injuries were non-life-threatening. One was shot in the pelvic area, the other three were shot in their arms or legs. Investigators said they found at least 17 shell casings.
There have been several shootings in the area. Police said they also found shell casings from an overnight shooting. No injuries were reported in that shooting.
Police said they didn’t know whether the shootings were related.
D.C. police are offering $1,000 for information that leads to a conviction Tuesday’s shootings. Anyone with information about them can call (202) 727-9099 and remain anonymous.
