White House reporters Jim Acosta and April Ryan, fixtures of the daily press briefings for their often combative exchanges, say they have received death threats in response to how they do their jobs.
Acosta, who reports for CNN and who has been singled out multiple times by President Trump, told Variety magazine in a new article that he frequently receives the threats.
“I probably receive more death threats than I can count,” he said. “I get them basically once a week.”

Acosta said he recalled receiving one threat after he yelled a question out to Trump related to immigration at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
Ryan, who reports for American Urban Radio Networks, said she “actively gets death threats just for asking a question” and that she has the police “on speed dial” because of it.
The Variety feature looks at the uniquely hostile relationship between the press and the Trump White House.
