Donald Trump will reportedly meet with hundreds of evangelical leaders in an apparent effort to smooth out his sometimes uncertain relations with the religious right.
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, who is helping organize the event, is among the social conservatives Trump will meet, according to Fox News.
“Our goal is to be able to have a conversation that could lead to a better understanding of what Donald Trump has to offer to the country,” Perkins told Fox News.
Other right-leaning evangelicals are also expected to attend, including Faith and Freedom Coalition founder Ralph Reed and author James Dobson.
The gathering is reportedly slated for June 21 in New York City.
