The Pentagon on Monday identified two soldiers killed over the weekend at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
Sgt. John Perry of Stockton, Calif., and Pfc. Tyler Iubelt of Tamaroa, Ill., were both assigned to headquarters and headquarters company, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division based at Fort Hood, Texas.
The suicide bombing early Saturday morning local time also killed two U.S. contractors, as well as wounded 16 U.S. troops and one Polish soldier.
Defense Secretary Ash Carter said an investigation will determine how to improve force protection and prevent similar incidents in the future.
