Trump taps Republican loyalists for Italy, Czech Republic ambassadorships

President Trump announced his nominations for two more ambassador posts on Monday, choosing U.S. representatives to Italy and the Czech Republic.

Trump chose Lewis Eisenberg to be ambassador to Italy and Stephen King as ambassador to the Czech Republic. Both positions must be confirmed by the Senate.

Eisenberg is a financier and former Goldman Sachs partner. He was also the chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for six years.

A Republican, Eisenberg was a major bundler for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in the 2008 presidential campaign.

King is a Wisconsin businessman who is from Janesville, the hometown of House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc. He is a longtime member of the Republican National Committee and is close with Ryan and Reince Priebus, the White House chief of staff and former chairman of the RNC who is also from Wisconsin.
