A uniformed division motorcycle officer was hit by a car near the White House mid-Monday, according to a U.S. Secret Service tweet published shortly after the accident.
The collision took place between the White House and White House visitor center where Pennsylvania Avenue NW meets 15th Street, according to an Associated Press photographer. The motorcycle was crushed and under the front of a black car. Debris from the accident was scattered throughout the intersection.
The unnamed officer was transported to a local hospital and is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The agency did not report on the driver’s condition.
UPDATE: The Uniformed Division Officer has been transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
