Donald Trump’s first television ad of the general election, released Friday, hits Hillary Clinton for her stance on border security and immigration.
“In Hillary Clinton’s America, the system stays rigged against Americans,” the ad’s narrator says.
“Syrian refugees flood in. Illegal immigrants convicted of committing crimes get to stay, collecting Social Security benefits, skipping the line. Our border open, it’s more of the same, but worse.”
“Donald Trump’s America is secure. Terrorists and dangerous criminals kept out. The border secure. Our families, safe,” the narrator says towards the end of the clip.
“Change that makes America safe again.”
The 30-second spot is part of Trump’s nearly $5 million ad buy in battleground states, including Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Clinton, who is polling ahead of Trump in all five states, has been airing ads across the board for the last two months.
