PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — A 25-year-old Peoria woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man in her apartment.
Police say Janay E. Hayes was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly stabbing 24-year-old Cadman M. Coates of Peoria. Coates was pronounced dead just before 7 a.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll tells the Journal Star in Peoria that (http://bit.ly/1updykF ) Coates had been stabbed at least once in the chest.
Hayes is being held in the Peoria County Jail pending a bond hearing on Monday.
