The Blaze has stopped production of Tomi Lahren’s show for a week following comments she made about being pro-choice, managing editor Leon Wolf told the Washington Examiner on Monday evening.
“All I can say is that Tomi’s show will not be in production this week,” Wolf said.
The Glenn Beck-owned network did not state if the suspension was in connection to comments Lahren made last week about abortion, or related to negotiations over Lahren’s contract, which is set to expire in September.
Earlier Monday, the 24-year-old stated pro-life conservatives were hypocrites because they opposed government interference when it comes to bearing arms, but not when it comes to telling women whether they can have an abortion.
“I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” Lahren told the hosts of ABC’s The View on Friday.
The comment marked the first time Lahren has come out on the issue, siding with progressives on the policy.
Lahren currently hosts “Tomi” for The Blaze. She previously hosted “On Point with Tomi Lahren” on the One America News Network.
The suspension was first reported by The Daily Caller.
The Examiner has reached out to Lahren for comment.
