NYPD: 1 killed, 5 injured outside Bronx lounge

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say one man is dead and another in critical condition after an assault outside of a Bronx lounge. Four other people were also hurt.

Authorities responded to a 911 call just before 4 a.m. Sunday about people being assaulted outside a lounge on Valentine Avenue in the Bronx.

Officers found six men with injuries. A 21-year-old man had been shot in the head, another 21-year-old had been shot in the leg and a 24-year-old had been shot in the torso. A 23-year-old had been slashed in the torso, and a 22-year-old had been slashed in the face. A 26-year-old had been hit in the head and torso with a baseball bat.

The men were taken to the hospital, where the 24-year-old was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing.
