Prince George’s police arrested three Southeast Washington teenagers Thursday in connection with a string of carjackings that injured more than a dozen people Memorial Day weekend.

Anthony Cannon, 16, of the 3900 block of Q Street SE Terrelle Bailey, 16, of the 1500 block of Fort Davis Place SE and Kevin Womack, 18, of the 600 block of Morton Street SE have all been charged as adults with carjacking and robbery with a deadly weapon. Prince George’s police were assisted by members of the Metropolitan police and by U.S. Marshals.

The teenagers were being held in Washington pending extradition, said Cpl. Diane Richardson.

Shortly before noon Sunday, six males in a Jeep armed with semiautomatic weapons carjacked three pickups, a Ford F-150, Dodge Dakota and a Chevy Silverado, loaded with all-terrain vehicles near popular motorbike trails outside Laurel.

Drivers wrecked two of the stolen pickups. One of the accidents resulted in a 13-car pileup that sent 10 people to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The other accident injured a man and woman when the driver of the stolen F-150 slammed into their vehicle at Howard and Rhode Island avenues in Beltsville. The woman remained in serious condition Friday.

Police are still searching for other suspects, Richardson said.

A third vehicle — a 2004 Gray Chevrolet Silverado, Maryland tag 71N712 — has not been recovered.
