BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) — Amtrak says Battle Creek has marked completion of the $3.6 million renovation of its Intermodal Transportation Center, used by the passenger train system and other carriers.
The station has a new entrance and passenger drop-off area, fenced long-term parking lot, and improved exterior lighting and landscaping.
The center began operating May 23 and officials dedicated it Tuesday. It also serves Amtrak Thruway Connection passengers on Indian Trails buses and Greyhound intercity buses.
Amtrak says funding came through the 2009 federal stimulus bill.
