Obama: FBI should ‘not used a as weapon’ in politics

President Obama on Friday expressed the importance of the FBI not releasing information regarding possible investigations of presidential candidates.

“Our goal has been and should be that our investigators and our prosecutors are independent from politics,” Obama said. “That they are not used a as weapon to advantage either side in partisan arguments.”

Obama’s comment came after FBI director Jim Comey announced last week that his agency was reopening its Hillary Clinton email investigation days before the election.

“I want to make sure we continue with that tradition and with that norm,” he said in an interview with Rev. Al Sharpton on MSNBC.
