Take Five: This weekend’s best bets for fun

On the one hand, good weather is expected this weekend, so maybe you should get outside. But there is some great live music indoors as well. It’s up to you to choose — or do it all. Five things to do this weekend.

Friday: Built to Spill at the 9:30 Club

Get the car and the night off and head to the 9:30 Club on Friday for Built to Spill. These ’90s survivors have continued to create great music. And yes, the band opened for Kings of Leon at Jiffy Lube Live in August. But this Friday will be way better because they’re the headliner. Revolt Revolt opens. 8 p.m. doors. $25. Visit 930.com for details.

Also at the Club: Southern Culture on the Skids headlines Saturday, with the Fleshtones opening.

Friday: Bob Saget at the Warner Theatre

Oh, Danny Tanner, those three daughters sure were a handful, weren’t they? You might even say it was a “Full House.” But while comedian Bob Saget might be best known for his roles on family entertainment such as “Full House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” he has made another name for himself because of this raunchy comedy. Find out how naughty he can be at the Warner Theatre on Friday. $37.50. 8 p.m. warnertheatre.com.

More funny: Bobby Lee is at the DC Improv this weekend. dcimprov.com.

Through Oct. 24: Maryland Renaissance Festival

Just a couple of weeks remain at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, and if you haven’t attended yet, this is the weekend to do so. First, it’s Oktoberfest weekend. Second, it’s supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny out. If you’re leery of a Ren Faire, it’s a lot of fun, with live entertainment and great food like turkey legs. And no, you don’t have to dress up. $18 at the gate. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. rennfest.com

The finish line: The festival ends Oct. 23-24 with Chivalry Weekend.

Saturday: Oktoberfest at Rustico

If you haven’t been to this fantastic beer restaurant, now is your chance. Check out the outdoor block party from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, featuring food from a number of area restaurants. Admission is free, and there’s a Vespa up for raffle. Plus, plenty of brew, of course, and Planet Wine will be on hand as well. For more info, visitrusticorestaurant.com.

More beer: The Maryland Brewer’s Oktoberfest is also Saturday at the Timonium Fairgrounds near Baltimore. dasbestoktoberfest.com

Sunday: Roger Waters at the Verizon Center

Run like hell to the Verizon on Sunday to catch Roger Waters perform “The Wall” live, because it doesn’t look like Pink Floyd is reuniting for a tour any time soon. “The Wall” is one of the great rock albums of all time, and to see it performed live is a real treat. If you think you might like to go to the show, tickets range from $53 to $253. 8 p.m. Visit verizoncenter.com for more info.

Good imitation: If you can’t make the show this weekend, and can’t wait for a Floyd reunion, the Machine — and Pink Floyd tribute act — is at the State Theatre in Falls Church on Thanksgiving weekend.
