The arrest of two Metro employees on prostitution charges is the latest in a recent series of sexual misconduct charges filed against transit agency workers.
Police charged Metro custodian Dolaron Allen with misdemeanor sexual abuse after he had sex with a woman in the customer bathroom at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station June 14, court documents said.
According to the charges, Dolaron, who was hired in 2007 and was no longer employed by Metro as of June 19, forced the woman to perform sexual acts to which she did not consent.
The Examiner also reported last month that Metro assistant superintendent Victor Marcell Moss was charged with simple assault after a new Metro employee accused him of holding her in his office against her will, attempting to unbutton her blouse and his pants, and making unseemly requests while promising her financial rewards.
Metro employees who asked not to be identified have described to The Examiner rewards being promised for sexual favors at the lower and middle levels of the agency.
Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said last month that all managers and supervisors are required to take a course on sexual harassment in the workplace and that the agency sends out reminder memos about the policy.
The transit agency saw a high-profile case in 2006 when Aaron Burroughs, a Metrobus driver and assistant football coach at Bowie High School, was indicted on charges of arranging paid sex for a 14-year-old girl. Burroughs is awaiting trial.
