No injuries were reported after a Metro train derailment Tuesday evening outside the Rosslyn station, but there were plenty of delays.
Metro said the “minor” derailment, which occurred shortly before 7 p.m., involved a single wheelset on one car of a Blue Line train traveling in the direction of Franconia-Springfield. Passengers were offloaded to the Metro platform in less than 10 minutes, officials said.
Metro trains single-tracked on the Orange Line between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon, and on the Blue Line between Foggy Bottom and Arlington National Cemetery, causing lengthy delays.
