Cruz says Trump ‘in great spirits’ following dinner in Mar-a-Lago

Sen. Ted Cruz said former President Donald Trump is “in great spirits” following a dinner they shared at Mar-a-Lago.

“Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago,” Cruz tweeted along with a photo of himself and Trump. “He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022.”

The photo comes as Trump issues a bevy of endorsements ahead of the midterm elections and has vowed to campaign against Republicans such as Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

TRUMP REPORTEDLY WORKING TO BRING BACK MAGA RALLIES SOON

“I will not be endorsing, under any circumstances, the failed candidate from the great State of Alaska, Lisa Murkowski. She represents her state badly and her country even worse. I do not know where other people will be next year, but I know where I will be — in Alaska campaigning against a disloyal and very bad Senator,” he wrote in a statement earlier this year.

Though Cruz and Trump had a contentious relationship ahead of the 2016 election, Cruz has embraced Trump’s populist messaging and objected to the certification of President Joe Biden’s Electoral College win earlier this year.

The former president has recently amped up his media presence and launched his own communications platform after being banned from Twitter and Facebook.

“This is just a one-way communication,” one source familiar with the communication platform told Fox News. “This system allows Trump to communicate with his followers.”

He has not yet revealed whether he will run again for president in 2024 but teased this week that his decision will make supporters “very happy.”

“As you know, it’s very early. But I think people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement.”
