OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Oriental Trading Co. has announced that it’s buying a novelties company, SmileMakers, from office products retailer Staples Inc.
The cash terms were not disclosed in Friday’s announcement.
Oriental Trading is an Omaha-based Berkshire Hathaway company and sells party supplies, arts and crafts, novelties and school supplies.
SmileMakers is based in Spartanburg, S.C., and it is a direct retailer of patient giveaways and medical practice promotional items.
Oriental Trading says it expects to complete the purchase by mid-April.
