Constellation Energy?s share price surpassed $100 for the first time last week, reaching a 52-week high of $101.24 per share Wednesday.
Since the beginning of the year, Constellation?s share price has increased more than 40 percent, the biggest gainer of the stocks in The Examiner Top 10, a portfolio of some of the largest publicly traded companies in the Baltimore region.
The company?s share price has increased steadily since August, benefiting from an increase in U.S. gas and power prices in recent months.
Constellation, the nation?s largest competitive supplier of electricity to large commercial and industrial customers and the nation?s largest wholesale power seller, had 2006 revenues of $19.3 billion. Constellation is the parent company of Baltimore Gas & Electric.
