With all 140 of Virginia’s state House and Senate seats up for re-election in 2011, redistricting is likely on the mind of most politicos in the Old Dominion. But Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, expects the state maintain its 11 House seats following the release of the 2010 Census figures.
Sabato tells the Associated Press that total population projections could net Virginia another seat in 2020.
The U.S. Census bureau is slated to release state population totals at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
