Trump to host Denmark’s prime minister at White House

President Trump is set to host Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen in Washington next week, the White House announced Friday.

“The Prime Minister’s visit will occur on the eve of the 100th anniversary of Denmark formally ceding the U.S. Virgin Islands to the United States,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement about the visit.

Trump and Rasmussen are expected to discuss NATO, trade and the fight against the Islamic State during their meeting on Thursday.

Rasmussen will join a growing list of foreign leaders who have visited Trump at the White House since Inauguration Day. U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were among the first.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was among the most recent leaders to conduct bilateral talks with Trump in Washington.
