Donald Trump postpones vice presidential announcement after France attack

Donald Trump announced late Thursday he will postpone his vice presidential announcement due to an attack in Nice, France.

At least 60 people were killed and another 100 people wounded Thursday night when a van crashed into a crowd that had gathered in southern France to celebrate Bastille Day, according to multiple reports.

Trump’s delaying the announcement may interfere with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s political plans. Pence, who was rumored all day Thursday to be Trump’s final pick over former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, must file papers stating his intent to run for re-election or not by noon Friday.

The billionaire businessman has not stated when he plans to declare his choice for vice president.
