GiveSendGo bounces back after ‘malicious’ cyberattack against Freedom Convoy

GiveSendGo, a Christian crowdfunding platform, is bouncing back after a Sunday cyberattack was launched against a Canadian Freedom Convoy fundraiser.

The attack was launched by “malicious actors” in an effort to end users’ ability to raise funds, according to a Tuesday statement released on Twitter to answer “the many questions concerning the attacks.”

“There was a broadcasted breech showing one such actor illegally hacking into GiveSendGo and distributing the names and emails of the doors of the Freedom Convoy Campaign,” the statement read. “However, no credit card information was leaked. No money was stolen.”

UN EXPERT: POLLUTION DEADLIER THAN COVID

After learning of the attack, the platform moved to shut down its operations to mitigate any further damage before performing “many security audits.”

“We are in a battle. We didn’t expect it to be easy. This has not caused us to be afraid,” the statement concluded. “Instead, it’s made it even more evident that we can not back down.”

GiveSendGo is continuing to work with the Freedom Convoy, according to a Saturday tweet.

“The funds from the Freedom Convoy are not frozen contrary to what you might be hearing on the news. GiveSendGo is working with many different campaign organizers to find the most effective legal ways to continue funds flowing,” the post read.
