Baltimore and Maryland motorists got a relief from gasoline prices Tuesday, according to Towson-based AAA Mid-Atlantic.
The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Baltimore fell to $3.06 on Tuesday from $3.08 per gallon on July 15, AAA Mid-Atlantic reported.
In Maryland, the average price fell to $3.05 on Tuesday from $3.09 on Aug. 1. And nationwide, the price dropped to $3 on Tuesday from $3.01 per gallon on Aug. 1, AAA Mid-Atlantic reported.
The group welcomed the drop.
“It is a good sign when you consider that this time last week people were making strong and stringent predictions that we would see $4 per gallon gas after BP announced problems with its pipeline,” said Amanda Knittle, a spokeswoman for AAA Mid-Atlantic.
