Biden accuser ditches cable news to do on-camera interview with Megyn Kelly

The woman who has accused former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault spurned cable news networks and joined Megyn Kelly for her second on-camera interview coming forward with the allegation.

Tara Reade, who worked in Biden’s Senate office in the early 1990s, has declined interviews with Fox News and CNN and instead chose to sit down with the former Fox News and NBC News personality, who has not yet joined another network since she was forced out of NBC in 2018 and does most of her reporting from her YouTube and Instagram accounts.

Reade, 52, accused the former vice president of inappropriately touching and penetrating her with his fingers while forcibly kissing her without her consent, claims that Biden has denied.

Kelly announced the interview on Twitter Thursday but did not provide details on when it will be released. She worked on the interview alongside Rich McHugh, a journalist who uncovered additional corroborating evidence regarding Reade’s claims in a piece for Business Insider last month.

Reade was originally scheduled to be interviewed by Fox News’s Chris Wallace over the weekend but canceled because she and her daughter received death threats. CNN’s Don Lemon also revealed that Reade backed out of an interview with him, which was scheduled for last week.

“Last Friday, Tara Reade, who has accused Joe Biden of sexual assault when she worked in his senate office in 1993, canceled an interview she agreed to do with me, saying she wasn’t comfortable doing the interview any longer after the former vice president spoke with MSNBC that morning and categorically denied the allegation,” he said, according to Mediaite.

Reade first sat down with the Hill’s Rising back in March.

Kelly, who has remained mostly out of the media sphere since leaving NBC, resurfaced last fall when she interviewed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy about reports that ABC News squashed a story pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sexual abuse.

Editor’s note: The article originally referred to Reade’s upcoming interview with Kelly as her first on-camera appearance, but she has appeared on the Hill’s Rising. The article and headline have been updated to reflect that.
