Dave Matthews Band announced Wednesday that it’s putting together a star-powered charity concert in Charlottesville, Va., after deadly unrest following a white supremacist rally in August rocked the city and the country.
“In response to the recent events in their hometown, DMB will host ‘A Concert for Charlottesville,'” the band tweeted with a poster advertising the concert.

Performers like Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, and Pharrell Williams will take center stage at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium on Sept. 24, which will be free to members of the Charlottesville and UVA communities.
While the event is free for some, donations for the Concert for Charlottesville Fund will be accepted at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation.
“Beneficiaries of the fund will include victims of the events in Charlottesville on August 11 and 12, their families, first responders, and organizations devoted to the promotion of healing, unity and justice locally and nationwide,” a press release promoting the concert read.
Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old paralegal, was killed on Aug. 12 when a car slammed into a group protesting the “Unite the Right” rally in the college town.
