Florida man drives car into kitchen to save it from hurricane

A Florida man sheltered his Smart car in his kitchen to save the dainty vehicle from blowing away in Hurricane Dorian’s ferocious winds.

With their garage filled with their other car, Patrick Eldridge and his wife, Jessica, wondered if the Smart car would fit into their house, according to the Associated Press.

“I said there was no way he could. He said he could,” Jessica recounted, who was “amazed” when Patrick managed to squeeze the vehicle through the kitchen’s double doors. “He had it in with no problems,” she said.

Jessica claimed her two dogs were “confused” by the home’s new addition, which she had to make her way around as she cooked and served dinner.

After the storm had passed, she posted a YouTube video of Patrick expertly backing out of the kitchen.

Dorian has weakened to a Category 2 hurricane as it moves its way up the East Coast on Wednesday after having devastated the Bahamas.
