Police seek help in Lyon sisters case

Montgomery County police detectives want to hear again from a reader of The Washington Examiner who contacted them with information in the 35-year-old cold case of the Lyon sisters.

On March 25, 1975, 12-year-old Sheila Lyon and 10-year-old Katherine Lyon vanished on their way home from Wheaton Plaza

On April 7, 2010, they were featured in a “Cold Case” story in The Examiner.

Multiple tips have come in over the years on the case, but police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks said Wednesday that they wanted to hear again from this reader of The Examiner.

Tipsters may contact police two different ways.

He or she may contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. The caller can choose to identify him or herself. To ensure remaining anonymous, he or she may also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
