A woman who was walking on Interstate 270 near Gaithersburg was killed after she was hit by a car and bus, Maryland State Police said.
The woman was hit when she was walking south on I-270 , south of Route 124, shortly before midnight Monday. She was struck by a 1996 Cadillac and then a Montgomery County Ride On bus that was driving behind the car.
Police said the woman was not carrying identification and had not been identified Tuesday morning. It’s not known why she was walking on the highway.
Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
