D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray may want to consider a career in college basketball prognostications.
As the nation looks toward Saturday’s Final Four, Gray’s bracket, obtained ahead of the NCAA Tournament by The Washington Examiner, is in decent shape: So far, he has picked 40 of 60 games correctly and his title game matchup — Kentucky vs. Ohio State — could still happen.
Gray, who entered an ESPN bracketology contest under the username “VinceGray3,” has fared well: He’s in nearly the 93rd percentile. That’s better than LeBron James (53rd percentile) and ESPN commentator Dick Vitale (14th percentile).
But the mayor trails the First Fan: President Obama has racked up a bracket in the 96th percentile.
If Gray had entered the Examiner’s friendly internal competition, he’d be fourth in the standings, among those trailing leader Liz Farmer — one of the newspaper’s Wilson Building reporters.
