Two who shot, paralyzed man get three years

The two men involved in the shooting and paralyzing of a man in the parking lot of a Bennigan?s restaurant in Columbia were sentenced this week in Howard County Circuit Court.

Raymond Ko Kang, 19, of Woodstock, and Jonathan Kim, 19, of Ellicott City, were sentenced to three years in prison.

Kang pleaded guilty to a first-degree assault charge, and Kim pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

Prosecutors said during an altercation in January, Kim struck Harsh Thakkar, 20, of Elkridge, and Kang shot him after a drug deal gone bad in the chain restaurant?s parking lot.
