Judge acquits 2 Wone defendants on tampering charges

Two of the three men accused of covering up Robert Wone’s death have been acquitted on charges of tampering with evidence.

D.C. Superior Court Judge Lynn Leibovitz ruled Thursday morning that a reasonable juror could not find evidence supporting the tampering charges against Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

But the defense must still present its case rebutting those charges against Joseph Price. Leibovitz also denied the defense’s motion for acquittal on charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice against all three men.

The three are accused of covering up Wone’s Aug. 2, 2006, death in their Dupont Circle townhouse.
