The Washington metropolitan area has the 6th worst traffic in the nation, according to a new scorecard by Inrix, a traffic tracker.
Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Bridgeport, Conn., all beat out the nation’s capital for bad traffic.
The D.C. region also had some of the nation’s most congested roads for 2011. Interstate 95 southbound from Interstate 395 to Russell Road ranked 21st worst, behind roads in New York and Los Angeles. That section of I-95 had an average speed of 35 miles per hour and an average delay of 19 minutes, according to Inrix.
The Beltway between Route 1 to Georgia Avenue ranked 33rd, with an average speed of 26 miles per hour and an average delay of 8 minutes.
