A protester and Trump supporter was arrested after allegedly throwing feces at the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia on Tuesday, while shouting “Make America Great Again!”
The suspect, Reginald Scott See, has been charged with disorderly conduct and littering, according to Law & Crime, but the Lexington Police Department is not issuing a statement on his arrest. A local report from an ABC affiliate said it looked the protester on Tuesday threw chicken poop at the wall of the establishment and that the fire department had to come in and clean the mess. The report said the man was arrested after throwing “chicken s–t.”
The restaurant has seen small protests since last weekend when the restaurant’s owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, asked White House press secretary Sarah Sanders to leave, a decision that did not violate any laws. Wilkinson said she did so because of Sanders’ role in the Trump administration.
Protesters have heckled other unaffiliated Red Hen restaurants over the past several days by vandalizing them and making fake reservations. Some have left one-star reviews on Yelp, an action that could potentially open them up to defamation lawsuits. Some posted pictures online of the Red Hen in flames.
On Tuesday some protesters stood outside the restaurant holding signs that read “Red Hen needs to learn love and tolerance,” “Trump = Love,” “Homos are full of demons,” and one with an acrostic spelling out the letters in LGBT as “Let God Burn Them,” citing a passage in the bible that is widely used to counter homosexuality.
