WASHINGTON (AP) — District of Columbia police have made an arrest in the killing of a woman earlier this week.
Police on Saturday announced that 51-year-old Kevin McDarin Johnson had been arrested in the strangulation death of Detra Martin.
Police say the 48-year-old Martin was found unconscious Thursday night inside a home in the 800 block of Southern Avenue in southeast Washington. She was determined to have been strangled to death.
Johnson was arrested Friday evening.
A police spokesman did not immediately know the relationship between Martin and Johnson, and it wasn’t immediately clear if Johnson had a lawyer.
